A Reminder

It is important when researching court house records to remember that Yalobusha County has two county seats.
Coffeeville is county seat for the southern half, or Judicial District One and Water Valley is the county seat for the northern half, or Judicial DistrictTwo.

When looking for land records, marriage licenses, probate court, will records and similar documents, you need to determine which county seat is most likely to have the documents and contact the appropriate office.

I have posted the above for researchers benefit, I discovered my Amyt aka Amyette family on the 1850 Yalobusha County census, North of the Yalobusha River operating   Plantations, I mentioned this to a local researcher and they informed me that the Yalobusha River was in Grenada Co. that Yalobusha was the mother county from which Grenada was taken so I decided to see when this all happened. So, if early census said your ancestors were in Yalobusha county and you can't find them on the 1860 , 1870 census , look in the above two counties which was created out of Yalobusha.
